01 What this policy covers

This policy applies to paid EdgeMarket subscriptions bought on edgemarket.co and paid through Stripe. It forms part of the terms of service and is read together with them.

The free plan costs nothing and has nothing to refund: you can stop using it at any time.

One thing to be clear about before anything else: EdgeMarket sells measurement, not outcomes. A subscription that worked as described is not refundable because a trade went against you. The reasons for that are set out in the risk disclosure.

02 Free plan and trial period

The free plan is a plan, not a trial. It gives access to the public register and to a defined subset of the service, for as long as you want, without payment and without ever turning into a charge on its own.

There is no trial period on any paid plan today. A paid subscription is charged when you subscribe, in advance for the whole period, and the checkout page shows the amount and the renewal date before you confirm. If we introduce a trial later, this page will describe it — its length, and the date of the first charge — before it starts.

What protects a first subscription instead is the 30-day money-back guarantee described below, and, if you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the United Kingdom, the statutory right of withdrawal in the next section.

03 Statutory right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU or the EEA, mandatory law gives you fourteen days from the conclusion of a distance contract to withdraw from it, without giving a reason. Consumers in the United Kingdom have the same fourteen days under the equivalent 2013 regulations.

For digital services, that right can be lost only if performance starts during those fourteen days at your express request and you acknowledge, at that moment, that you are giving it up. We deliberately do not ask for that acknowledgement, and we have no plan to: the 30-day money-back guarantee below is longer and less conditional than the right it would remove, so asking you to waive it would gain us nothing and cost you clarity. The right of withdrawal therefore applies in full — you can withdraw within fourteen days even though your access started immediately, and we refund what you paid.

To withdraw, write to support@edgemarket.co from the email address on the account and say that you are withdrawing. No form, no reason, no justification.

This right and the 30-day money-back guarantee below are separate, and you keep whichever is better for you. In practice the guarantee lasts longer — 30 days instead of 14, with no condition beyond it being your first subscription — but it is a commercial promise, while withdrawal is a right that we cannot cut down or take away.

Other markets are not identical. Singapore law gives no equivalent statutory right of withdrawal for digital services, and there is no federal right of cancellation in the United States. There, the refund rules below are what applies — and those rules apply to everyone, wherever you live.

04 When we refund

30-day money-back guarantee

If it is your first EdgeMarket subscription, you can ask for a full refund of your first payment within 30 days of that payment, for any reason at all. You do not have to explain, and we do not ask what went wrong — though we read the answer with interest when you tell us.

How to use it: write to support@edgemarket.co from the email address on the account, within the 30 days, and say that you are using the money-back guarantee. We acknowledge within 2 business days, refund the first payment in full, and end the subscription on the day the refund is issued. The timings set out below apply to this request as to any other.

The guarantee covers the first paid period of a first subscription, once per customer. It does not reopen on a later renewal, on a change of plan, or on a second account opened by the same person.

The other cases where we refund

Beyond the guarantee, we refund, on request and without argument, in these cases:

  • a duplicate charge, or a charge for a plan you did not order;
  • a charge taken after a cancellation that had been correctly recorded;
  • a billing error on our side, whatever its cause;
  • an exercise of a statutory right of withdrawal that is validly open to you;
  • a prolonged failure of the service during a period you paid for. We do not promise an availability level, so there is no automatic threshold; a long and documented interruption is looked at case by case, and we refund the part of the period you could not use.

What we do not refund by default

  • a period already started and used, outside the cases above;
  • dissatisfaction with the measurements themselves, or with the results of your own trading;
  • a renewal you forgot to cancel — with one exception: tell us within 7 days of the charge and, if you have not made substantial use of the service since it was taken, we refund it in full. That is a commercial gesture rather than a right, and we would far rather make it than have you file a chargeback;
  • an account closed by us for a breach of the acceptable use or data use sections.

Annual subscriptions are not refunded pro rata. If you cancel part-way through a year, the months left are not paid back: the annual discount is the price of the commitment, and your access runs to the end of the year you paid for. The 30-day money-back guarantee and any statutory right of withdrawal still apply to that first payment, in full.

Nothing in this section removes a right the law gives you and does not allow us to remove.

05 How to ask for a refund

Write to support@edgemarket.co from the email address on the account, with the invoice number or the date and amount of the charge, and one line on what happened. No form to fill in, and no obligation to justify a statutory withdrawal.

Acknowledgement
Within 2 business days of your message. If you have heard nothing by then, write again — something went wrong on our side.
Decision
Within 10 business days of the request. If we refuse, we say so in writing and give the reasons, so that you can answer them or take the matter further.

06 Method and timing of a refund

Refunds are issued through Stripe, to the payment method originally used. We cannot send a refund anywhere else — that restriction protects you as much as it constrains us.

Once we issue it, the money usually appears on your statement within 5 to 10 business days, the range Stripe documents for card refunds. That part depends on your bank or card issuer and is outside our control. If nothing has arrived after 10 business days, tell us and we will send you the refund reference to give to your bank.

Refunds are made in the original currency. If your bank converted the payment, exchange-rate movements between the charge and the refund can leave a small difference that we do not control and cannot compensate.

07 Cancellation and effect on your access

You can cancel at any time and without giving a reason, by writing to support@edgemarket.co from the address on the account. A one-click cancellation inside the account is being built; until it ships, the email route is the one that works, and we treat the date of your email as the cancellation date.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not cut your access immediately: you keep the paid plan until the end of the period already paid for, then the account continues on the free plan.

After the period ends
Your account stays open and moves to the free plan. Anything the free plan does not include stops working until you subscribe again. We do not delete your watchlists, alerts or history when a subscription ends; what happens to them over time is set out in the privacy policy.
Account deletion
Cancelling a subscription is not the same thing as deleting an account. To have your data erased, use the procedure in the privacy policy.

08 Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it automatically — up to four attempts, spread over about three weeks. Your access continues while those attempts run, and we email you at each failure so that nothing happens silently.

If none of the attempts succeeds, a grace period of up to 14 days follows, during which access continues and we write to you again. The subscription is then cancelled, around 30 days after the payment first failed, and the account moves to the free plan. Paying the outstanding invoice at any point before that keeps the subscription running without interruption.

A failed payment is never treated as a refund request, and a cancellation for non-payment does not create a debt: we simply stop the subscription.

09 Chargebacks

If something is wrong with a charge, contact us first: a refund is usually settled in less time than a chargeback takes to open. A chargeback filed without contacting us may lead to the account being suspended while the case is examined, and we will provide the payment processor with the evidence we hold.

10 Disputes

If our answer does not satisfy you, say so: we will re-examine the case and give you a reasoned reply.

If you would rather not deal with us directly, mediation is open to you. EdgeMarket is published from Singapore, where the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) runs a mediation service for consumer disputes. Consumers in the EU or the EEA can instead go to the alternative dispute resolution body competent for their country and sector; your national consumer authority keeps the list of approved bodies.

Mediation is optional. Using it, or skipping it, does not affect your right to go to court.

Governing law and jurisdiction are those set out in the governing law section of the terms: the law of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore. If you are a consumer, that choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, nor of the right to bring proceedings before the courts of that country.
