Polymarket

This screen answers one question — on which market is something happening now — and refuses three others it cannot answer honestly. Knowing which three is what stops you reading a filter as a search.

Two rankings, and the difference between them

The flow block offers two views of the same universe. “Where size lands” ranks markets by the large positions arriving on them, with whale trade counts and whale volume over a 24-hour window. “Where pace changed” ranks by recent trade counts and trade sizes.

The first view writes its window because the source names it. The second does not write one, because the source does not name one. That asymmetry looks like an oversight and is the opposite: printing “24h” on the second view would have been a figure nobody measured.

Nota Volumes, liquidity and trade sizes are served as bare numbers. The source names a currency in exactly one place — per-trade amounts, in USDC — so no unit is printed where none was served.

The indexed directory

Below the rankings sits the full index, page by page, with the liquidity and creation date that only this source carries. It is served in one order — largest volume first — and there is no sort parameter upstream. A client-side sort would look global while only reordering the page you are on, so none is offered.

The two filter fields run on the rows currently loaded, and the screen says so next to them. “No match” means none among these rows, and says nothing about the rest of the directory.

Paging stops at a published offset. Each page is fetched separately upstream and the rate limit is shared with every visitor, so going deeper would spend it for everybody.

Reading one market up close

A market sheet carries its state and end date, YES and NO as probabilities, volume, liquidity, the daily series, and the latest trades served for it.

The daily series is a table rather than a chart, on purpose. Its values are average execution prices over a day — not a mid, not a close — and days without a trade are absent rather than zero. Joining those points with a line would draw movement across days when nothing traded.

On the trades list, direction is derived from two served fields rather than measured: buying YES and selling NO read as up, buying NO and selling YES read as down. Side alone is not a direction, and the screen prints that rule instead of assuming you know it.

The three things this screen will not pretend to have

  • No search. The index endpoint takes a page and an offset and nothing else. The field on screen filters loaded rows, and is labelled as such.
  • No category. The field exists upstream and comes back empty on every row read, so no column and no filter is built on it — an empty filter would read as “these markets have no category”.
  • No outcome. Whether a market is open and when it ends are served; how a closed market resolved is not, so no column claims it.

When a market interests you enough that you want the depth behind its price, the sheet links to the order book screen. That screen is instrumented on a small share of open markets and says plainly when nothing was ever recorded for one — the link opens it, it does not promise a book.

Perguntas que este guia responde

Where is the market heatmap?
There is none. Earlier material described one; it was never part of this product. The two flow rankings answer the question a heatmap was meant to answer, and they do it with figures you can read rather than tile areas you have to estimate.
Why can I not search for a market by name?
Because the index endpoint serves a page and an offset, and no search parameter. A search box that only looked at rows already on screen would be worse than none, so the field is labelled as a filter on loaded rows.
Why is the daily series a table and not a chart?
Because its values are average execution prices per day, and days without trades are absent. A line would invent movement across the gaps and would read as a price history, which it is not.
